Craig Widdison enjoyed a break-out day at Albury on Friday with Willi Willi's victory in the $180,000 Albury Cup part of a winning treble for the Wodonga-based trainer.
The soft victory by Willi Willi also brought up a winning treble for his rider Nikita Beriman.
Widdison began the day well when Zephora won the maiden before Beriman partnered Cash Crisis for the trainer to win the $50,000 Showcase Handicap.
The 36-year-old trainer only last year moved back to Wodonga to set up his own training business after nine years in a partnership with Peter Morgan.
Willi Willi ($7.50) strolled home in the Albury Cup by three-and-a-half lengths over Supply And Demand ($8) with a short neck to the $3.20 favourite Wheal Leisure.
