Mr Fergus Romps In Race 6 At Sandown Under Noel Callow

Feb 07, 2018

Mr Fergus showed a clean pair of heels in the final stages of the 2100m United Petroleum handicap at Sandown with Noel Callow bolting past runners in the final stages to defeat Great Lane from King Valour.

Sitting in the first half dozen over the crossing King Valour took it up with Beach God in advance of Charlie Cheval with Manning Road following, the Craig Widdison prepared runner was tucked inside via the 1200m with five runners behind its rump.

On turning for home Callow shifted his runner off the plastic & passing the 400m stepped out into the main stream, edging up to pass the leading trio in the concluding stages to race away and score the event in fine fashion.

The win gives connections an almost perfect preparation with 3 wins coming from 4 starts this time in.
